This is a Trumpeter BJ212 kit packaged and marketed by HobbyCraft as a "Iraqi Fedayin Technical". The kit contents are identical except for the frame. For some reason the HobbyCraft box includes a body frame with (what I assume is) a gas tank in the back. I moved the front axle forward by just a few mm to give the car a more aggressive and 'Landcruiserish' look. This also raised the front of the car a little. I decided to not even bother with the engine which is not going to be seen and is poorly detailed anyway. I modified the hood cover to a more standard BJ hood. I will use a rear bumper from Tamiya Pink Panther Land Rover kit. The deflated spare tire will actually be used as a flat tire. I'm not completely happy with the look but it's OK. DShK machine gun is from Tamiya T-55 kit. It is very nicely detailed but hard or even impossible to convert to a 'non-tank' version. RPG-7 and DShK ammunition boxes are from Russian company Tank. Jerry cans are from Tamiya Jerry Cans set. The cage is scratch built and is inspired by Land Rover Defenders used by the Czech army in Afghanistan. Overall a very easy and fun project except for some tiny parts that broke as I was trying to remove them from the sprue. I had to scratch build the loops that hold leaf springs together out of copper wire.
