Old and very affordable Tamiya Kit built straight out of box with addition of a Tamiya .50 caliber machine gun, spare gun mount from Academy M151 and a spare jerry can from Italeri Commando Jeep. GAZs like this one, armed with an intimidating machine gun were used by the Soviet counterpart of "Detachment 2702" operating in Ukraine. Activity of this group, code-named "Oborotni" (Werewolves) is still a mystery due to high level of secrecy. If you want to learn more about Allies' Detachment 2702 during the WWII read "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson.

As you can see the level of detailing is very primitive. No engine and just a hint of the dashboard. Underbelly of the car is also pretty crude for Tamiya. Despite all that, the only challenging part of the assembly was the frame for the canvas top, everything else fits nicely. What's nice about the kit is the inclusion of Maxim machine gun (it couldn't make it to the photo shoot on time, sorry).
