Pinewood Derby Land Rover

This Land Rover was built by me and my buddy Sean Gallagher to compete in Dremel Pinewood Derby that took place at Bosch Tool Corp. headquarters in November of 2005. The car managed to take the second place in Skil brand group (there were only two cars in this group) and miraculously came second to last in one of the final races (The car raced without the dead cheetah in the back). The car rides much faster in reverse but otherwise behaves like a rear-wheel drive car on a slippery road.
It was built out of one pinewood derby kit although you need a second kit to get the spare tire from. Because Land Rover without a spare tire on the hood is not a Land Rover! Everything else was built out of scrap pieces of wood, wire and plastic. The barrel of the shotgun was made out of coffee stirring stick.
