I guess I should admire
an effort by some company somewhere to create model kit of an obscure vehicle
at an affordable price. Unfortunately the only good thing about this kit by
Moldova's AER is that it's a scale model of an obscure (yet important in history
of Soviet armor) vehicle. The detail level is very poor and the only part
that I acn't complain is that round lid on top of the turret.
My first impulse was to just try and have fun with and make something that
looks like GLA Scorpion tank and this is why you see this gigantic machine
gun from one of RPM kits. After I attached that I decided to do my best and
make the rest of the tank as historically accurate as I could. But even here
I couldn't resist the temptation and used the headlight from Tamiya T-55 tank.
The pictures pretty much show what was filled with putty, what was made out
of wire, foil or white styrene. Glueing together individual track links was
a major pain in the butt! (I'm going to make a little vignette and only after
that post pictures of finished tank).
There are a plenty of reference photos and even blueprints on the ineternet
- mostly in the .ru part of it (the tank in the kit didn't seem to match any
of them. So there...). These two are the best:Russian
