| engine with first coats of paint | The headlights are from the kit but the marker lights and turn signals are scratch built | Except for the tailgate everything else is pretty much scratch built |
| Engine
area still needs a lot of wiring to make it look busier |
ISAF
decals are from Archer. Czech decal is from Tamiya T-55 kit |
"Arabic"

Side
by side 1/35 wheels from my collection |
This is
1/35 UAZ from Military Wheels. I got it cheap in Ukraine while on vacation
and still refuse to understand how can somebody charge almost $30 for this
in the US.
Luckily there's a TON of reference material on the internet and someone
with a lot of patience and modelling skills can turn this kit into a nice
looking model.
The kit is molded in a very light gray color and it is virtually impossible to see little white styrene thingies I added here and there.
I spent a lot of time on the engine trying to make it more detailed than whatever comes out of the box. I made the pulleys by turning my Dremel minimite into a lathe. Hoses are made of a strecthy material people use to make bead bracelets.
Next big chunk of work was to make seat frames - soldering... lots of it.
The engine compartment is simplified and I realized that a little bit to
late to try to modify it.
